Born in Udine in 1976, Ferdinando Mussutto graduated with top honors in piano at the age of 20 from the State Conservatory of Music “J. Tomadini” in Udine. He later attended various master classes for both solo and chamber music repertoire, refining his skills with Maestri Panhofer, Rattalino, G. Lovato, D. Rivera, Fister, Porta, and the Trio di Parma. In 2001, he completed a two-year advanced course with Maestro Andrea Lucchesini at the School of Music in Sesto Fiorentino and advanced chamber music courses at the School of Music of the Trio di Trieste in Duino (TS), under the guidance of maestri De Rosa, Zanettovich, Jones, and Bronzi, earning a Diploma of Merit. Awarded in various national and international competitions, he has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, England, Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, China, Paraguay, and Venezuela, receiving acclaim from both audiences and critics. He has collaborated with numerous musical entities in Northern Italy and Carinthia, including the “G. Verdi” Lyric Institution of Trieste, the Orchestra of the Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice, the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” in Milan, the Orchestra “Academia Ars Musicae” in Klagenfurt, the Association “CarinthiArtis” (Klagenfurt), and the Conservatory “A. Steffani” in Castelfranco Veneto (TV), the Choir of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Portogruaro Music Summer, and the FVG Mitteleuropa Orchestra. In the summer of 1997, he began his career as a collaborative conductor at the “G. Verdi” Theater in Trieste; in 2001, he recorded two CDs for the RealSound record company of Udine, making a world premiere recording of chamber works by the German composer Arnold Schoendlinger (sonata for viola and piano and second sonata for violin and piano) with Lucio Degani, first violin of “I Solisti Veneti,” and Alfredo Zamarra, the Viola of the “La Fenice” Theater. In December 2002, he was also the winner of the selection for collaborative pianists of the instrumental classes announced by the Conservatory “A. Steffani” in Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso), where he collaborated for four years, also serving as the official accompanist pianist in masterclasses and international lyric competitions. In 2009, he was invited to conduct a piano masterclass at the “O. Lopez” School in Caracas, while in 2010 he was awarded the “Carinthicum 2010” prize by the CarinthiaArtis Association (Koetschach, A) for his concert activity in Carinthia. He constantly explores musical genres outside the classical realm, from contemporary music to crossovers, and in 2011 he recorded the CD “Intersections” for the ARTESUONO label in a duo with saxophonist Alex Sebastianutto, receiving generous appreciation from specialized magazines in the sector. He is one of the founders of the “PIANO TWELVE” Ensemble, a formation composed of 12 pianists that is achieving considerable success, and with which he performed worldwide for RAI 1 SPORT. He conducts an intense concert activity that has seen him as a protagonist alongside international artists such as Annamaria Dell’Oste, Domenico Balzani, Luisa Castellani, Lucio Degani, Domenico Nordio, Thomas Carroll, Marco Gerboni, Nicola Mazzanti, Massimo Mercelli, Roberto Fabbriciani, Quartetto Szabò, Ensemble Italiano di Sassofoni, and Tallin Sinfonietta. He is currently a collaborative pianist at the “J. Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine.
